Firefighters tackle 'large' hedge fire
BBCFirefighters have been tackling a "large" hedge fire which had spread to a barn.
Guernsey Fire & Rescue Service said crews were called out to the blaze at Courtil De Bas Lane in St Sampson at about 14:00.
It said two appliances attended the incident and found a "significant area of small trees, hedge, undergrowth and straw bales on fire". It added that the fire was brought under control by about 14:45 BST.
The fire service said a number of horses, poultry and domestic pets were moved to safety by their owners and were unharmed. Incident commander Andy Gibson confirmed there were no injuries.

The service said smoke was moving in a westerly direction and advised residents "to limit their time outside where possible and close windows and doors".
Guernsey Police closed the road at both ends of Courtil De Bas Lane onto Rue Sauvage and Pleinheaume Lane.
Gibson said he was "unsure" of the cause of the blaze and the service and Guernsey Police would be carrying out an investigation.
The service said firefighters would remain at the scene to carry out damping-down operations.
