Man charged in connection with stabbing during off-licence robbery

Police said the man faces a number of charges in connection with the incident

A 34-year-old man has been charged in connection with an armed robbery at an off-licence in Carrickfergus, County Antrim.

A staff member was stabbed with a screwdriver during the incident on 31 July.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said the man has been charged with robbery, assault on police, criminal damage, false imprisonment, threats to kill, common assault and aggravated burglary and stealing.

He is due to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court on Monday.
