Major traffic delays clear after police incident
GoogleLong delays in and around Bristol have cleared after a major road was closed.
According to traffic monitoring site Inrix, the A4032 Newfoundland Way was shut in both directionsdue to a police-led incident between Bond Street and the M32.
Police, fire crews and highways officers were called to the scene at about 12:30 BST and traffic was diverted onto the A4320 Easton Way and Lower Ashley Road.
Multiple routes including the M32, the Portway and Bath Road were congested as motorists were diverted around the closure. The delays had cleared by about 19:30.
There was congestion on the M5 near Bristol due to holiday traffic and long delays after a collision on the M4 Westbound from junction 19 for the M32 to junction 20 for Almondsbury Interchange.
