Rapist jailed for Christmas night out attack
Cleveland PoliceA man who raped a woman at the end of a Christmas night out has been jailed for four years and three months.
Malcolm Clark, 57, attacked his victim after a pub crawl in Middlesbrough, Teesside Crown Court heard.
Judge Francis Laird KC said it was clear the offence "had and continues to have a significant effect" on the woman's daily life.
Clark, from Sunderland, who had denied rape but was found guilty by jurors, will also have to sign the sex offenders register indefinitely.
The judge said the crime was aggravated as Clark was intoxicated and the victim was "vulnerable because she was also drunk".
