Georgie Kelly snatched a point with the last kick of the game as Carlisle's National League game with Southend exploded into life in the final minutes of a draw at Brunton Park.

Kelly had given the Cumbrians a fourth minute lead after converting a cross from David Ajiboye and for much of the game it looked like being more than enough to secure the points.

But Southend hit back to level with seven minutes remaining after Promise Omochere capitalised on a loose back-pass to find the net for the Shrimpers.

Micah Obiero should have restored Carlisle's lead when he scooped the ball over the bar from point-blank range, and the hosts looked set to pay the price when Kyle McAdam lashed home a 25-yarder to put Southend ahead in stoppage time.

But there was still enough time for Kelly to take advantage of a long ball forward to poke home and salvage a breathless 2-2 draw.
