Why EFCC freeze Osun state govment account

Di Economic and Financial Crimes Commission bin direct say make nobody withdraw any money from di Osun state govment statutory allocation account as part of an ongoing investigation.

For inside one letter dated August 5, 2026, wey di Assistant Commander of EFCC, Adenike Babalola sign for di Director of Investigation, e instruct di bank to put a post-no-debit restriction on di account pending di conclusion of di investigation.

"Refer to our letter CR:3000/EFCC/ABJ/HQ/PFS/TA/OSUN/VOL.17/165 dated 15th April 2026 on di above subject.

"In furtherance to di above, we kindly request say make you place a Post-No-Debit on di account. Dis request is made pursuant to Section 38 (1) & (2) of di Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (Establishment) Act, 2004 and Section 24 of di Money Laundering (Prevention and Prohibition) Act, 2022," di letter read.
