    Mark Woodforde
17-time Grand Slam doubles champion on BBC Radio 5 Live

Smart play by Sinner. After putting the drop shot he moved forward, closing the court down which made the overhead volley so much easier.

He's had control over the point.

Jannik Sinner has disappeared off court for a comfort break between sets.

  3. 'Rough ride'published at 16:08 BST

    Nick Lester
Former British tennis player on BBC Two

It is hard to believe when you see Jenson Brooksby play some of the tennis he has today that he went through a period of eight matches without a win this year. That was from Indian Wells to Queens, that is three months without a win.

    That is a rough ride.

  4. Venus Williams in actionpublished at 16:08 BST

We're still waiting to find out if Serena and Venus Williams will team up in the women's doubles tomorrow after Serena sustained a knee injury on her Wimbledon singles comeback on Tuesday.

    But Venus is playing now!

She and German partner Kenny Krawietz are in mixed doubles action againt Great Britain's Lloyd Glasspool and Slovakia's Tereza Mihalikova - the seventh seeds - over on court 14.

    You can watch that here

  5. Game and second set - Sinnerpublished at 16:08 BST

    *Sinner 6-4 6-3 0-0 Brooksby

Jenson Brooksby gets everything right with the set-up, sending Jannik Sinner wide with his serve, but then fails to capitalise when his volley catches the net.

Sinner has one foot in the next round.

This is very old school grass court tennis.

  10. 'Brilliant shot'published at 16:06 BST

Former British number one on BBC One

Well that was completely the wrong shot but it was beautifully executed from Novak Djokovic!

Being able to take the pace off a fast groundstroke from behind the baseline is so impressive. He just feathered it over the net, it was a brilliant shot.

  11. Set point Sinnerpublished at 16:05 BST

    Sinner 6-4 5-3 Brooksby*

Jannik Sinner gets to 30-15 as he looks for a double break to wrap up the set, but he overcommits on a forehand and it goes long.

    Ah.

    Sinner gets to 40-30.

    *Rinderknech 5-7 4-6 6-1 1-2 Djokovic

Perfect weight on that drop shot from Novak Djokovic, cutting up the back of the ball from behind the baseline. Arthur Rinderknech, stumbling forward, catches the ball one-handed in his follow through. 40-0.

An ace completes a much-needed routine hold for Djokovic.

    Sinner 6-4 5-3 Brooksby*

    Mark Woodforde

Brooksby looks very stiff in the way he plays but he has this amazing touch.

That rally got a standing ovation and it actually deserved another one because it was SO good.

That little flick around the net post from Brooksby, my word.

  15. Sinner holdspublished at 16:02 BST

    Sinner 6-4 5-3 Brooksby*

Jenson Brooksby waves his arms to crowd and asks for them to keep cheering after possibly the point of the tournament so far!

Brooksby is forced way outside of the court but returns around the net post only for Jannik Sinner to hook it back from the baseline before the American eventually comes up with a winner.

    Incredible.

It's only a brief moment of celebration, though, as Sinner goes on to hold.

  16. 'Doesn't have a serve to get him out of trouble'published at 16:02 BST

    *Sinner 6-4 4-3 Brooksby

    Nick Lester
Former British tennis player on BBC Two

Brooksby doesn't have a serve he can rely on to get him out of trouble.

The work he has to do at the back of the court is so much more than he knows Sinner has to do.

  17. Rinderknech holdspublished at 16:02 BST

    Rinderknech 5-7 4-6 6-1 1-1 Djokovic*

Plenty of moaning and groaning from Novak Djokovic as he's made to stretch a couple of times on his forehand side before Arthur Rinderknech buries a forehand volley in the opposite side of the court.

Rinderknech races to 40-0 but a double fault and an undercooked drop shot into the net set a few nerves jangling.

Djokovic nets a backhand off a slow second serve. "Come on!" yells Rinderknech.

  18. 'One-way traffic'published at 16:00 BST

    *Sinner 6-4 4-3 Brooksby

    Pat Cash
Former Wimbledon champion on BBC Radio 5 Live

Once Sinner gets settled and gets his timing, it's one-way traffic.

Brooksby has been playing a good match, the class of Sinner is just too much at the moment.

    Ah…

You felt those missed break points would come back to haunt Jenson Brooksby.

Jannik Sinner pummelled a forehand so hard on his way to breaking his opponent that someone near me actually gasped and covered their mouth in shock.

Novak Djokovic has made us worry before that something is up, but I guarantee you that when it comes to the big moments he will be absolutely there, competing very hard, being tough to beat. He has done that his whole career.
