Speaking about his move from Palmeiras to Manchester City, Allan told the club website: "This is a surreal moment for me. Manchester City, with everything they have won over the past 15 years, are one of the most attractive clubs in the world for players. To be able to sit here today and say I have joined them is the proudest moment of my life.

"I love Palmeiras and always will – but the decision to come to City was an easy one.

"I want to be the best footballer I can be and the conversations I’ve had with the people at City so far has convinced me there isn’t a better place for me to fulfil my ambitions.

“I want to promise the Manchester City fans I will give absolutely everything to make the most of this opportunity."

Manchester City have paid an initial £32m plus £2.2m in add-ons for 22-year-old Brazilian winger Allan, who has signed a five-year contract.

Allan is a direct replacement for compatriot Savio, who completed a £75m move to Tottenham Hotspur last week.

The right-sided winger scored nine goals and provided 12 assists in 96 appearances in all competitions for Brazilian top-flight side Palmeiras after progressing through the club's youth system.

We started the day by telling you that Bradley Barcola was expected in Liverpool for his medical today.

And while one Gabriel is flying from London to Barcelona today to have a medical, another is preparing to fly out to Saudi Arabia.

Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli is set to travel to Saudi on Tuesday for a medical with Al-Hilal.

It is believed a deal of at least £50m has been agreed for the 25-year-old Brazil international, after Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta made clear he is not in his plans.

It is understood Martinelli will sign a four-year contract, with Al-Hilal offering wages thought to be significantly more than his reported £180,000 per week deal at Arsenal.

Gabriel Jesus would be the Spanish champions' third signing from a Premier League club this summer, following the arrivals of Anthony Gordon from Newcastle and Rodri from Manchester City.

Barcelona are closing in on a move for Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus worth £8.6m (10m euros).

A deal for the Brazil international is believed to be at an advanced stage and, while the finer details still require finalising, the transfer is expected to be completed before Tuesday's deadline.

Napoli had shown an interest in Jesus, but the 29-year-old is set to join last season's Spanish league champions and will travel for a medical on Monday.

Jesus joined Arsenal from Manchester City in 2022, scoring 32 goals and adding 22 assists in 123 appearances for the Gunners.

Julian Alvarez's potential move to Arsenal could be the biggest deal to watch, with the Atletico Madrid striker's future now hanging in the balance.

The 26-year-old is caught between his desire to leave Atletico and the club's refusal to sell him to Barcelona. But they would do a deal with Arsenal.

The Gunners have had a long-term interest in Alvarez and have been monitoring the dramatic situation, with Atleti looking for a fee of 150m euros (£128m).

Alvarez has missed multiple training sessions and did not travel to face Sevilla on Saturday, with Simeone saying he wasn't well enough.

Simeone, meanwhile, has attempted to keep the door open, saying he will "do everything" he can to make Alvarez feel important when he returns to training.
