Any progress on Gaza peace negotiations 'extremely welcome', says UK ministerpublished at 09:14 BST

Cabinet minister Louise Haigh says any progress in the peace negotiations and disarmament of Hamas is "extremely welcome".
"Obviously we will need to await the Israeli government's response," the first secretary of state tells BBC Breakfast.
She says the UK government will await Israel's withdrawal from Gaza, and also for it to take action against "settler violence in the West Bank".
"The suffering in Gaza and the wider region has been too extreme for far too long and the human cost of the war as been absolutely obscene and intolerable," she adds.
Asked if the UK government has been involved in these discussions, Haigh doesn't answer but says it will "set out details in due course of our wider government response".
