Congratulations to Northampton Saints who are this season's Prem champions.

They finished top of the table in the regular season and no-one could argue that they are not deserving title winners after an excellent season in which they have royally entertained throughout.

They will enjoy tonight and come back to defend their title next season when the likes of the Chiefs will be doing their utmost to dethrone them.

As Exeter skipper Daf Jenkins said, it was one game too many for Chiefs, who surpassed many people's expectations this season to reach the final - and be leading it deep into the contest - and they will look to be go one better next year.

That's all from us today - hope you enjoyed that as much as we did and enjoy your Saturday evening!

    Northampton are building a dynasty.

With 14 academy graduates in their 23, it’s based on developing their own, and you can see the connection here between the players and their supporters who are in raptures in the Twickenham sunshine.

With time on their side, they will feel they can add to their legacy and be talked about in the future as one of the great English club sides in history.

A very, very brave effort from Exeter.

The yellow card was very crucial with Dafydd Jenkins and if it was right.

There will be a lot of talk about Henry Pollock not getting a yellow card, but all in all it's been a wonderful season for Exeter.

They've finished in third place in the Prem and these lads will no doubt just get better and better.

They've learnt so much this season and when you think where we were just before November time, they have put in some wonderful performances, particularly away from home and the future looks very, very bright.

Great result for Northampton, many congratulations. They've been the best side for nearly 12 months.

You look at that game and you are not going to say that any of those tries are going to be up for try of the season.

It wasn't the traditional Saints we're used to seeing or the rugby we're used to seeing but that's what champions can do. Champions are able to find ways to win games, they can win the game in multiple ways and they showed that today.

    Well done to Saints.

It was not a classico but job done.

Immense credit to Exeter, brought their A-game today and I would imagine every Exeter fan and their team are very proud of them.

It's all about the entertainment value and the brand that Saints have played this year. Their style, their enthusiasm, their fitness has been absolutely fantastic.

Others have tried to follow suit and some have really, really tried their hardest to emulate, but this is the real deal.

    Northampton Saints, take a bow.

Exeter's Dafydd Jenkins speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live:

"I'm gutted but proud of the boys, it's the biggest privilege I could have is being in this group.

"I'm honoured to play with them, unfortunately we were a bit short today, that's sport isn't it.

"We played a lot of big games in a row, but we turned up emotionally for each other, we will have to look at the game where it went wrong and come back stronger.

"I'm extremely proud and as I said it's the biggest honour to be in this group.

"Something I don't take for granted, it's a special group of boys, hopefully there's more to come from this group."
