A Commonwealth Games boxing match is only meant to last nine minutes, eh?

Well, there was a wee bit of afters outside the ring following Nick Devlin's split-decision win over Ebenezer Ankrah from Ghana.

A tight bout, the Scotsman was granted a little bit of breathing space courtesy of Ankrah's point deduction for handling in the third round. Coorie in, son.

At times, it appeared he was hanging onto the 25-year-old with dear life, but when the warning was issued, Ankrah's supporters and Ghanaian media were livid.

Heckles to the referee pierced through the jubilant home support who had just watched Devlin move to one fight away from a medal, and they continued out onto the concourse post-fight.

A few volunteers created a bit of space as tempers flared, but eventually, things started to calm down.

Nothing to see here...

Welsh fighter Owain Harris-Allan is more than ready to face home favourite Nicholas Devlin in the quarter-finals.

Harris-Allan, 22, celebrated a unanimous victory against Niven Chemben from Mauritius.

The lightweight from Cardiff, a bronze medalist in four years ago, will next fight Scotland's Devlin on Wednesday for a place in the semi-finals.

More sharp passing and movement in the second quarter from England who have made Malawi work very hard.

The Roses reach half time by stretching their advantage to 14 points.

Northern Ireland go for their first win of the tournament against Tonga at 16:00 BST and later, in Pool B Scotland face Trinidad & Tobago (21:00 BST).

• Wales' Jeremiah Azu was the fastest in his 100m heat as the athletics got under way at Scotstoun Stadium. England's Elliot Jones also made it into the semi-finals.
• England's Imani Lansiquot's time of 11.04 seconds was the best time across the women's 100m heats, while Mabel Akande also won her heat to progress to the semi-finals.
• Scotland's Stephen Mackenzie qualified for the long jump final with a jump of 7.75m.
• England's Samuel Bennett was the fastest across the two heats in the men's 110m hurdles, while his compatriot Tade Ojara also qualified.

• Northern Ireland's Caitlin Fryers is into the quarter-finals of the women's 51kg boxing after defeating Zinnat Ferdous of Bangladesh by unaminous decision.
• There were also wins for Scotland's Nicolas Devlin and Wales' Owain Harris-Allan in the men's 60kg round of 16.
• England's Abigail Martin took silver in the women's vault, while Wales' Abigail Roper won bronze.
• And Luke Whitehouse won gold in the men's floor.

No let up from England at the start of the second quarter as they seek to put behind them that pummelling by Australia yesterday.

Head coach Anna Stembridge admitted in the wake of that loss they had turned over the ball on too many occasions and would take those learnings into today's game.

So far, so good for the Roses.

The first Welsh medal in women's vault at the Commonwealth Games since Sonia Lawrence 32 years ago.

Canada's Lia-Monica Fontaine was miles in front and she takes the gold.

The first quarter comes to an end in the Hydro with England in complete control.

Nine goals apiece for Lois Pearson and Olivia Tchine.

Difficult to see a way back for Malawi in this one.

Australia's Georgia Goodwin scores 13.116, which isn't enough to move onto the podium.

Women's vault final

After watching her twin sister Abigail take on the vault first, Wales' Emily Roper is up next.

Emily is unable to join her sister on the podium as a score of 13.283 sees her moves into fourth.

So, both Abigail Martin of England and Wales' Abigail Roper are both in the medal positions with just two gymnasts left to go.

All very comfortable for England in the opening stages of their third Pool A match in the netball.

They raced into a 3-0 lead inside the opening two minutes.

England have taken their foot off the pedal a little but have still managed to stretch their advantage.

Sam Tolchard doesn't know what day of the week it is. Few involved in the Commonwealth Games do.

But what the England bowler does know is he is one win away from a guaranteed medal after reaching the men's singles semi-finals with victory over former world number one and home favourite, Jason Banks.

Tolchard beat the Scots in straight sets to top "the group of death" and was, unsurprisingly "very happy to squeeze through".

An electrician by trade, he's had worse Mondays...

A heavy defeat by reigning Commonwealth champions Australia on Sunday was a major setback to England's hopes of reaching the semi-finals of the netball.

The 2018 gold medallists failed to get a place on the podium in Birmingham in 2022 and their showdown against South Africa on Thursday looks as though it could hold the key to their ambitions.

But first there is today's game against Malawi and Wednesday's meeting with Tonga to come through.

Only two of the 12 players in the squad - Eleanor Cardwell and Imogen Allison - have experience in the Commonwealth Games after injuries to gold medallists Helen Housby and Natalie Metcalf, who withdrew with a calf injury last Monday.

Malawi suffered a 65-44 defeat by South Africa in their first outing before beating Northern Ireland 64-48 on Sunday.

Speaking of Northern Ireland, they go for their first win of the competition against Tonga today (16:00 BST).

My first dally into the basketball arena, and I'm hooked.

A couple of brutal 3x3 wheelchair basketball matches - including England thrashing South Africa - whet my appetite, before Scotland women gave New Zealand a right good go before succumbing to defeat.

England men are on court right now and it's a tasty tussle with Malaysia.

This is class.

Two solid vaults from Wales' Abigail Roper.

A score of 13.766 on the first and 12.700 on the second.

The final score is the average of the two executed vaults so it's 13.433 for Roper. That's the score to beat.

England's Abigail Martin is the next gymnast to take on the vault.

England women's 3x3 basketball team have took a resounding 21-2 win over South Africa to top Pool A.

South Africa scored early on for a 1-1 score line but England sustained a dominant performance to sail through to Wednesday's semi-finals with a score of 52 across their three games.
