It's a Ferrari one-two again, this time Charles Leclerc has the upper hand over his team-mate Lewis Hamilton by 0.385 seconds.

Kimi Antonelli has finally got a time set in stone on the soft C5 compound. The Italian teenager, who is 45 points ahead of Hamilton in the championship, slots into second, 0.144secs away from Leclerc.

Mercedes seem to be doing build laps, instead of going out and then pushing on that first lap, they are taking it steady and Lando Norris is being told to the same as well.

Lewis Hamilton is aiming to secure an astonishing 10th pole position at the Hungaroring today, and the seven-time world champion once again leaps to the front of the queue with a time of 1:19.053. Hamilton is 0.009 seconds quicker than reigning world champion Lando Norris, with Isack Hadjar, who is bumping along in the Red Bull, third quickest.

I am interested to see how the Mercedes do. Antonelli, we didn't get to see him have a proper run the soft tyres yesterday, because of that red flag that came out with Colapinto going into the wall. He then went out on a used set of softs but then the performance gain is not going to be the same from a brand new one. Both Mercedes are on a new set of soft tyres.

The track temperature is 53C at the moment as Charles Leclerc lines up another flying lap on the soft tyres. The Monegasque driver is able to put his Ferrari third on the timesheets, just over three tenths away from Lando Norris' time on the red rubber.

The first Mercedes crosses the line and it's George Russell, who slots into second initially but is down to fifth after Max Verstappen and Oscar Piastri bank better laps.

Kimi Antonelli, meanwhile, couldn't get near the front and has now had his lap time scrubbed off the board.

It does feel quite hot down here [in the pit lane]. As soon as you get a bit of heat, these cars need to be cooled and opened up at the back.

Just before Sergio Perez came to a halt at Turn Two, Lando Norris had beaten his team-mate Oscar Piastri's quickest time by a hefty margin of 0.856 seconds on the soft compound.

The Red Bull of Isack Hadjar is the closet to the world champion's marker, 0.296secs off the pace on the same C5 tyre.

[Sergio Perez] has gone out on a brand new set of soft tyres, gone through Turn One, straight out of the pit lane. He's then changed down and braked and it lost the rears.

The red flag is shown as Sergio Perez walks away from his stricken Cadillac. Perez tells his pit wall he lost the engine and the brakes are on fire at the back.

The replays show Aston Martin in a bit of bother, too. Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso are too close for comfort on track and some debris comes off the Spainard's car.

Another thing that has been going on this weekend and I don't know if it has anything to do with the dust or not, they have resurfaced a lot of the track. To say it has had mixed reviews would be an understatement. George Russell said yesterday that basically the track is breaking up in the final corner and as a result of that the drivers are not taking the normal racing line, they are going wider.

That is contributing to, for example, Colapinto's crash because he was on the wider line when he lost control yesterday.

As always on Saturday, practice has started at a leisurely pace. Nico Hulkenberg has the quickest time on the board so far with a 1:20.643 on the medium compound, with Franco Colapinto, Lance Stroll, who is back with us after missing second practice with car issues, and Valtteri Bottas the other drivers with times on the board.

Designed by Hermann Tilke, the 5.543 km technical track features long high-speed straights, sweeping S-bends and the eye-catching umbrella-shaped main grandstand, and was favourite among the drivers.

Mercedes are leading the way from second-placed Ferrari by 73 points in the constructors' championship, with McLaren in third 44 points clear of fourth-placed Red Bull.

The fight for fifth place is level on 61 points between Alpine and Racing Bulls. The French team occupy the best-of-the-rest spot now, but can Racing Bulls overtake them before the summer break?
