Kimi Antonelli has found a balance window that he really enjoys and is able to keep the car within that window. And George Russell, I think, is still trying to find that perfect window for himself.

Kimi is able to do it every single lap; George doesn't seem to be able to replicate it all the time.

Kimi Antonelli continues to top the leaderboard, he is in a world of his own.

Meanwhile, team-mate George Russell is in fifth, 1.296 seconds behind.

That is four drivers now with grid penalties, Lando Norris, Isack Hadjar, Lance Stroll and Ferando Alonso.

  4. Alonso handed 10-place grid penaltypublished at 12:02 BST

This one is not quite as relevant as Lando Norris' one on Thursday because poor old Fernando Alonso is going to be at the back anyway but he's now got a 10-place grid penalty, in addition to his Aston Martin team-mate Lance Stroll, and Norris and Isack Hadjar, for taking a new battery and new control electronics.

Would a move to McLaren be good for Max Verstappen?

  6. 'McLaren would be silly not to consider Verstappen'published at 12:00 BST

McLaren CEO Zak Brown would be silly not to consider Max Verstappen. But I think Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri are going to be at the team for the foreseeable future.

That's what I think, but you just never know, because Max is a generational talent, and if he wants out at Red Bull, he wants to go somewhere else, most team bosses will be thinking, 'can we get him, can we afford him?'

  7. Antonelli fastestpublished at 11:59 BST

Kimi Antonelli has made his way on to the track and put in his first lap time. Where has he placed himself, you ask.

Top of the leaderboard, lovely lap from him and he clocks in a lap time of 1:45.990 - nearly eight tenths faster than Lewis Hamilton.

I think Racing Bulls' driver line-up of Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad have probably been the most fiery and exciting this year. I think that's the most tense camp out there. I think there's no love lost between Lindblad and Lawson right now.

There is constant pressure in that team and the goal is to prove to the top brass at Red Bull that they can step in to the second seat alongside Max Verstappen. That's the whole point of those drivers being there: it's the stepping stone to the big boy's seat. And they're trying to out-do each other in terms of pace, results and points to try and get that seat - if it's available.

It's like they are always in the shop window.

The Red Bull mechanics have got to Isack Hadjar's car, near the pit lane exit and and slowly rolling him back into to the garage.

Hadjar: "No power. Oh my God. I stalled."

  12. Postpublished at 11:54 BST

Oh dear. Isack Hadjar's Red Bull has stalled in the pit lane.

  13. Postpublished at 11:54 BST

Isack Hadjar, Lando Norris, Pierre Gasly and Franco Colapinto are the only drivers on the medium tyres. Everyone else has the red softs bolted on.

Max Verstappen has completed a lap and goes second fastest behind Lewis Hamilton.

George Russell has left the Mercedes garage to join in on final practice.

  14. Wins in Spapublished at 11:52 BST

Of the current drivers on the grid, only two have won multiple times at the Belgian Grand Prix.

Lewis Hamilton has won at Spa five times in 2010, 2015, 2017, 2020 and 2024 - equalling Ayrton Senna's record.

Red Bull's Max Verstappen won three consecutive races, between 2021-2023.

Charles Leclerc won his maiden race at the Belgian Grand Prix in 2019.

Oscar Piastri won last year's edition in the McLaren.

  15. Postpublished at 11:50 BST

The only rookie this season, Arvid Lindbald, has just pipped Lewis Hamilton for the fastest lap time.

It does not last for very long, Lewis Hamilton completes his lap and tops the leaderboard again.

Max Verstappen has just left the pit to join the track.

  16. 'Russell will think he can turn this around'published at 11:49 BST

Mentally, Kimi Antonelli's form will be quite taxing on George Russell, but he's still within touching distance.

OK, right now, he's trailing his team-mate who is a lot younger and a lot less experienced but is mighty, mighty fast. But he's there. That's all George will be thinking about: I'm still within striking distance, I can still turn this around.

It is just the two Mercedes drivers and Max Verstappen who are yet to join the circuit in final practice.

Charles Leclerc is on an out lap at the moment, while his Ferrari team-mate has just set the fastest time in the first sector.

I think Isack Hadjar was in the way of Lewis Hamilton a little bit and I don't think Lewis will be too happy. He's gone fastest, but I think there is time to be found there for Lewis.

  19. Hamilton fastestpublished at 11:45 BST

There is a flurry of lap times on the board now.

Lewis Hamilton's Ferrari tops the timesheet now, with a lap time of 1:47.436.

Of all the current drivers, Hamilton has the most wins in Spa and the most pole positions.

  20. Postpublished at 11:43 BST

It is all very chill in the Mercedes garage, Kimi Antonelli and George Russell are in no rush to get into their cars.

Oscar Piastri did not seem to have a good Friday practice but has his luck changed?

The Australian is second on the leaderboard now.
