  2. Sergej Jakirović media recappublished at 16:04 BST 15 October

Fulham v Hull (Saturday 15:00 BST)

    Hull City

And here are some words from Hull manager Sergej Jakirovic before their match at Fulham:

    • OnMo Belloumi not starting v Everton: "If a player approach to you and said boss I am not feeling good, I am a little bit exhausted, this is normal because we have other options. We have good options but also with [Hidemasa] Morita, [Matt] Targett, Elliot [Matazo], Cuffy. We have a few good options. We will see tomorrow.”
    • On Fulham: “Tough game, difficult game because when I watched Fulham now they could have much more points. They've been a little bit unlucky with some games, this is also for us that we have to be very, very good there.
    • On Joe Gelhard's return: “Still lack of rhythm, match fitness because he also missed pre-season. Struggling with his calc, but he trained every day very hard. He delivered 15 goals last season so we know what he is capable of. He is one more option."
    • On Oli McBurnie: “Sometimes he is unprotected I am not happy with that because when I watched the games there is obviously fouls on him, they try to provoke him also, which is also a tactic. We are speaking every day about this. He is great and the goal will come."
  3. 'There's much more we can do'published at 16:02 BST 15 October

Tottenham v Coventry (Mon, 20:00 BST)

    Coventry City

Coventry City boss Frank Lampard has been speaking to the media before Monday night's Premier League game against Tottenham:

    • Lampard believes Coventry's recent wins have been an improvement, but insists there is still more to come from his side. He said: "No performance is absolutely complete. It felt, from where we'd been and where we're trying to get to, that the win over Newcastle was an improvement. There's much more we can do."
    • On what he expects from Tottenham, Lampard said: "As a promoted side, I'm sure they'll have a feeling of confidence against us. That's fine, we have to believe in ourselves and go there with our own confidence."
    • Tatsuhiro Sakamoto earned praise from Lampard after his performance against Newcastle. The Coventry boss said: "I know him really well, I love him as a player and a person. He trains every day with a hunger to get into the team."
    • On whether he has sympathy for Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi amid the pressure he is under, Lampard said: "We're all under intense pressure because, for whatever reason, expectations on the outside can be so much, and it's hard to gauge everyone's position from the outside. I don't know what pressure he is under other than seeing a coach who has come to this country, who did a great job at Brighton, who kept Tottenham in the league at the end of last season."
    • On team news, Kaine Kesler-Hayden is available after returning to training. Lampard said: "He's come back sharp, he looks good."

Josh Eccles is not yet ready to return after welcoming a baby last week and suffering ankle and calf injuries. Lampard hopes he will be back on the training pitch in two to three weeks, while Luke Woolfenden is expected to be out for longer.

  4. Postpublished at 16:01 BST 15 October

Right, we also promised you some quotes from the Coventry and Hull City managers.

Here are the top lines from their news conferences...

  5. Livramento back 'in the next weeks'published at 16:00 BST 15 October

Newcastle v Aston Villa (Sat, 17:30 BST)

    Newcastle United

Here's a final word from Newcastle United manager Matthias Jaissle on Tino Livramento and Jacob Ramsay: "With Tino, we need to be cautious and paying attention that it’s nothing where we hurry up. You know about his injury situation and history in the past, but we are optimistic that also in the next weeks we'll bring him back, but slowly and step by step.

"With JJ, I think it's a bit different, he's making progress now much more, a little bit like Anthony [Elanga]. Hopefully also next week he can join in partially in the training and then we build it."

  6. 'Potential' for Steur & Gonzales to play togetherpublished at 15:55 BST 15 October

Newcastle v Aston Villa (Sat, 17:30 BST)

    Newcastle United

Newcastle United manager Matthias Jaissle on whether there is a way Nico Gonzales and Sean Steur can play together: "There could be a a way, of course. From the player profile they are quite similar, also due to their qualities and how they interpretate the position, but there is also a potential to see both."

  7. 'Still a transition'published at 15:52 BST 15 October

Newcastle v Aston Villa (Sat, 17:30 BST)

    Newcastle United

Matthias Jaissle on his message to the Newcastle United fans:

"For sure, that it is still a transition, that is still the process, but that is nothing new now for us.

"I think we were all aware of that. I would also include you [media], that were aware of that when we met in the summer.

"This takes time, definitely. We got some set-backs now, especially the injury situation was heavily affecting us.

"We don't complain or take it as an excuse, but it is a reality.

"We need to find the next reaction to show the fans we can do better."

  8. 'We follow the rules' - Jaissle on financial regulationspublished at 15:50 BST 15 October

Newcastle v Aston Villa (Sat, 17:30 BST)

    Newcastle United

Newcastle United manager Matthias Jaissle on financial regulations: "Pretty simple answer from my side: we cannot control anything else.

"There are the rules and we follow the rules and we do the best out of that."

  9. 'We will be always flexible' - Jaissle on forward optionspublished at 15:47 BST 15 October

Newcastle v Aston Villa (Sat, 17:30 BST)

    Newcastle United

Newcastle United manager Matthias Jaissle on whether he has the forward options he needs and wants in the squad:

"We work it out always. But last time we played more in a 4-3-3 with a double 8, like the lads used to play in the last season, many, many times.

"We had that approach already in the previous matches also from time to time. We’re quite flexible in that approach, always due to our profiles, the players who are starting, but also it's always a matter of how the opponent is defending, where are the gaps, where we see potential to explore these spaces the opponents are giving us.

"So we will be always flexible and I mentioned it in the last press conference that sometimes we're talking about a position five metres higher or lower, if you're talking about an eight or a 10. So I don't want to discuss too much about the formation, more about our principles."

  10. 'Full conviction' Fernandez-Pardo 'will perform on a good level'published at 15:45 BST 15 October

Newcastle v Aston Villa (Sat, 17:30 BST)

    Newcastle United

More from Newcastle United manager Matthias Jaissle on what Matias Fernandez-Pardo has shown in training this week:

"Really top [confidence]. We are convinced that it's just a matter of time [he scores].

"I watched him today after the session, when he got a couple of more finishes. Pure class.

"Full conviction that he will perform again on a good level, like he did and hopefully he will get the rewards.

"I like to have a chat always with my players, to have a close relationship with them. So also with Matias."

  11. 'We need to show a reaction'published at 15:43 BST 15 October

Newcastle v Aston Villa (Sat, 17:30 BST)

    Newcastle United

Matthias Jaissle on trying to bounce back with a win at home after Monday's heavy defeat at Coventry:

"I will mention exactly that to my players. They should have the same response. Of course, that is our goal and we need to show a reaction as a team and I am optimistic that we can do that home."

  12. Steur is 'not pushing me, he's scared'published at 15:42 BST 15 October

Newcastle v Aston Villa (Sat, 17:30 BST)

    Newcastle United

Newcastle United manager Matthias Jaissle on whether Sean Steur is pushing for a place in the starting XI:

"He is not pushing me, he's scared, but of course he is knocking on the door due to his quality. He shows that in the training sessions.

"This is a player I mentioned many times where I believe that we have so much joy and fun with him in the future here in the club, but he also needs time.

"He has ups and downs already this season, and Nico [Gonzalez] did well now against Coventry. He should just continue developing."

  13. More game time 'next step' for Joelinton & Burnpublished at 15:36 BST 15 October

Newcastle v Aston Villa (Sat, 17:30 BST)

    Newcastle United

More team news from Matthias Jaissle - on the fitness of Joelinton and Dan Burn:

"We need to manage that really carefully. That is the tricky part. We missed them so much.

"Joe is now longer in training already than Dan, compared to Dan, and these are now the next steps for both of them to integrate, give them more game time.

"For Dan, it is most likely too short to get the starting position already as he just trained a couple of times. For Joelinton, it could be different."

So Joelinton could be pushing for a start on Saturday, while Dan Burn probably won't be.

  14. Big Champions League win for Villa 'gives them a huge boost'published at 15:30 BST 15 October

Newcastle v Aston Villa (Sat, 17:30 BST)

    Newcastle United

Newcastle United manager Matthias Jaissle on what he took from Aston Villa's Champions League match on Wednesday night:

"It gives them, for sure, a huge boost. I am pretty sure, also they have their problems in the league but they have a quality squad, picked with so much individual class and a coach who has showed now for many, many years his quality.

"We are aware what we are facing but at home with our crowd, support, we can hurt every opponent."

  15. Fernandez-Pardo has 'so much potential'published at 15:27 BST 15 October

Newcastle v Aston Villa (Sat, 17:30 BST)

    Newcastle United

Matthias Jaissle on Matias Fernandez-Pardo needing "adaptation time":

"You know that young lads coming for the first time to the Premier League, they need the adaptation time.

"I got the recommendation and also the advice that I should to be patient, at least half a year until winter, with these lads.

"Of course, we don't have the time, so the development and adjustment needs to be as fast as possible. But I am glad that we already see him in these situations, that he is bringing the principles on the pitch, he is creating the chances, it is just the goal missing right now, to give him the confidence back.

"He is an amazing player and he has so much potential."

  16. Newcastle missing 'conviction' against Coventrypublished at 15:24 BST 15 October

Newcastle v Aston Villa (Sat, 17:30 BST)

    Newcastle United

More from Newcastle United manager Matthias Jaissle on the emotions after the loss at Coventry: "Disappointment, frustration. This is clear if you get such a defeat in an away match. In the decisive areas - that means in both boxes, defensive wise but also offensive - we were missing that fortune and that conviction to score and that conviction to defend."

  17. 'We need to learn fast as individuals and as a group'published at 15:23 BST 15 October

Newcastle v Aston Villa (Sat, 17:30 BST)

    Newcastle United

Matthias Jaissle on the number of goals Newcastle are conceding: "It's never easy now after conceding four goals to talk about structure and what causes us the problems.

"In that match against Coventry we made too many individual mistakes so you cannot talk about the formation or tactical approach. These things we need to avoid, definitely, otherwise you get punished in the league.

"We are aware of that and even though we are a young squad we need to learn fast.

"This is the message now, towards the players, that we need to learn fast as individuals and as a group to avoid these things."

  18. Toure 'much better', Elanga 'hopefully' back next weekpublished at 15:20 BST 15 October

Newcastle v Aston Villa (Sat, 17:30 BST)

    Newcastle United

Newcastle United manager Matthias Jaissle on Bazoumana Toure: "Bazu seems to be much better. We're happy for that, it didn't look that well during the match. He was progressing all good in the last few days so hopefully he is able to join the group on Saturday."

On Anthony Elanga: "Unfortunately he's [been] out for many, many weeks and now it is the process to bring him back slowly, but surely, in a smart way, that we are not too much in a hurry.

"Hopefully, next week he is able to train again with the group or at least, partially, and then we need to reintegrate him again step by step. But we miss him a lot, I can't wait to have him back in the squad."

  19. Fernandez-Pardo 'needs time to adapt'published at 15:18 BST 15 October
