The big guns continue to deliver at this World Cup.

Another goal from Harry Kane against Mexico means his Golden Boot dream remains very much alive.

What a tournament the England skipper is having.

But the competition to be the tournament's top scorer is fierce.

Erling Haaland moved level with Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe on seven goals with a brace against Brazil.

Kane is one behind on six goals.

Messi has played a game less, so can steal a march on his rivals in Argentina's last-16 tie against Egypt on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Jude Bellingham's two goals against Mexico saw him join a group of six players on four goals that includes France's Ousmane Dembele.

Harry Kane and Erling Haaland - two of the game's most prolific goalscorers and both are also in contention for the tournament's Golden Boot.

England v Norway is about both teams, not just two players, but the head-to-head between their two in-form strikers - Harry Kane and Erling Haaland - is inescapable...

My three picks before the tournament were France, England and I said don’t be surprised if Norway do really well.

Haaland is the standout player, but they have some really good players. They work hard, they’re a team and work together.

This will be a totally different game to last night.

Let’s enjoy [the win over Mexico] but England will have to be on the top of their game again on Saturday.

Norway are in the quarter-finals because they deserve to be and so are England.

We know that England are old hats at this - the Three Lions have reached the quarter-finals of the last three World Cups.

For opponents Norway, Saturday's game against England in Miami will be the first quarter-final at a major international competition (World Cup or Euros) in their history.

Erling Haaland became just the eighth European player to score in each of his first four World Cup appearances, and the first since Christian Vieiri for Italy in 1998.

He has also now scored in each of his last 14 competitive internationals overall, netting 27 goals in this run.

And he is the first player to score two goals in a World Cup match against Brazil since Toni Kroos and Andre Schurrle both did so during Germany’s 7-1 victory against them in the 2014 semi-finals.

England manager Thomas Tuchel will need to make changes to his defence after Jarell Quansah's red card against Mexico.

Ezri Konsa finished the game at right-back, switched from the centre of defence to fill the gap left by Quansah's dismissal.

Quansah will be suspended for the quarter-final against Norway.

If regular right-back Reece James does not recover from the hamstring injury that has kept him out of England's last three games, could Konsa start on the right?

If so, could Newcastle defender Dan Burn start at centre-back, considering his past battles with Erling Haaland at club level, or is Tuchel more likely to go with Haaland's former Manchester City team-mate John Stones?

All eyes were on Haaland and Arsenal defender Gabriel as they renewed the rivalry that has become familiar to Premier League fans.

The duo have shared several bruising battles in their club colours and this meeting on the international stage carried plenty of intrigue.

But their latest meeting took time to come to life.

Their first tussle did not arrive until after the half-hour mark and left Gabriel on the floor, while Haaland's only touch inside the box in the quiet first half only led to a tame effort that was comfortably gathered by Alisson.

As the game progressed, so did the threat possessed by Haaland.

The 25-year-old got ahead of Douglas Santos to almost slide in at the far post after a cross from Ajer in the 67th minute before the all-important moment 12 minutes later when he beat Gabriel to the key header.

And in a warning to England, Haaland then made a second all on his own to take his goal tally at this World Cup to seven from just four appearances.

Erling Haaland's second-half double helped Norway stun five-time winners Brazil and book their place in the quarter-finals of the World Cup for the first time.

Brazil were left to rue Bruno Guimaraes' missed penalty in the first half as Haaland, who had a quiet game until that moment, stole ahead of centre-back Gabriel to meet a cross from Andreas Schjelderup and put Norway ahead in the 79th minute.

The Manchester City striker then sealed Norway's progress with a superb low drive from outside the box in the 90th minute.

Brazil were awarded a second penalty in the dying seconds of the game after referee Ismail Elfath deemed Leo Ostigard to have elbowed Casemiro and Neymar converted.

But it proved a mere consolation for Brazil, who exit the tournament before the quarter-finals for the first time since 1990.

At this point it is worth clarifying what happened last night before England made it on to the Azteca pitch.

To those of you who went to bed early, Norway knocked Brazil out of the World Cup with a 2-1 win against Brazil in New Jersey.

And yes, you've guessed it, Erling Haaland scored both their goals.

So England's next opponents are of the Viking variety, in Miami on Saturday...

There is no doubt that England will need their leaders against Norway.

Happily, captain Harry Kane has already got his voice back after what he described as an "all-timer of an interview" that he was "killed about" by his mates back home.

Despite the ribbing, the Three Lions skipper says it was "worth it".

In the quarter-final Norway pose a different threat, some that we know really well, some world-class players in there, so we will have to be ready.

"But my god, if you can't enjoy a night like this, just for one night, then I don't know what it's worth."

England will need their top performers to continue to fire, if they are to maintain the standard in the later rounds that they set in their 3-2 win over Mexico...
