Hibernian head coach David Gray tells Sky Sports:"Second half was much more like us and then we have the big moment in the game.
"I thought there was only one team that was going to win the game with the chances we created.
"We lose it through naivety. The goal we lose is really poor. Yes, people make mistakes, but don't make two or three. We also need to be more clinical. You need to take your chances when you're on top.
"We can't feel sorry for ourselves with a European game on Thursday night.
"We've dropped points today and that's really tough to take.
"It helps when bodies come back [from injury. We're always looking [for new signings]. Naturally, there will be people going the other way."

"We created enough chances to win the game, so to come away with nothing is clearly an issue," a disappointed David Gray tells Sky Sports. "Both goals we concede were naive."

Getting fed up watching Hibs play the ball square or backwards. They need to play a faster, pressing game. For the first time I’m wondering if David Gray and his staff are right to move the team forward.

An excellent result from Motherwell who dominated the first half but then lost the impetus in the second half. However their second goal was superb, well worked by Lowry and Williams and then Said who was cool, calm and collected. The new manager is following the principles of last season and it is working. Let’s hope it continues into next week's European tie.

Motherwell manager Alfred Johansson tells BBC Scotland: "It was a game of ups and downs for both teams and obviously I'm really pleased to come out with the three points.
"In the first half we showed some good stuff on the ball, but more than tactics we have to praise the spirit of the team because at time we had to ride out storms.
"We have Martin Moormann throwing himself to make blocks, the front three dropping deep to help and Paulsen making exceptional saves.
"We did that with eight players making their debut in the Premiership. It shows we have the right characters in the door.
"When we hit it off, the good periods look really good, but we want those periods to be longer, but even months from now when we are better we will have to suffer and the guys showed they are ready to do that."

For me, Hibs can be more thoughtful around the box. They make Motherwell defend and hope it lands for someone. That's the question mark over this team. They are quite predictable.
Over the course of two seasons it has worked for them. They are athletic, but I think they can do more to get guys like Elding and Boyle into good positions.
Saying that, it's harsh on them not getting anything from the game, but you have to tip your hat to the winning goal.

Ibrahim Said: "It's just amazing, you know. The pass was good, so I praise the pass. Then I did what I did."
Oscar Priestman: "They picked it up, but we soaked up pressure and then this man came up with the winner.
"Especially two games in quick succession, everyone put in a huge shift. We'll get our recovery in now and go to the next game.
"I don't know how much I can do for the second [penalty]. We got the three points and that's the main thing.
"The manager has brought in his own methods and stamped his authority on the team. We're all really enjoying it."

Ibrahim Said is a great player to watch, isn't he?
He bounces off people, pops it through their legs, he'll chop past them and he links play.
If he keeps these levels up, he becomes a star and the manager has to play him.

Hibs were the better team in the second half, but then Motherwell get the goal on the counter-attack.
Hibs will be so disappointed in how they lose the second goal. Motherwell took their chances and defended really well. It was a gritty display.

If you go back to last season, that's four home defeats in a row for Hibs, two of them to Motherwell.
Motherwell do a number on Hibs at Easter Road, stealing the points with a slick late goal from Ibrahim Said.
It was almost all Hibs in the second half, with a Martin Boyle penalty cancelling out an earlier spot-kick from Lukas Fadinger.

Motherwell continued their impressive start to life under manager Alfred Johansson as Ibrahim Said's superb goal secured a narrow Scottish Premiership victory at Hibernian.
After successive wins over HB Torshavn in Conference League qualifying, Johansson's side opened their league campaign with three points thanks to an incisive team goal late on.
Debutant Alex Lowry played a neat one-two with Said before releasing Dylan Williams down the left, who squared for Said to slot past Raphael Sallinger and complete a second-half smash and grab.
Lukas Fadinger had given the visitors the half-time lead with a coolly-converted penalty after Josh Mulligan wiped out Oscar Priestman at the end of a slick move.
It was symptomatic of a lacklustre first 45 minutes for Hibs, but they played with far more energy and endeavour after the break and deservedly equalised through a spot-kick of their own.
Martin Boyle pounced on a short backpass from Williams and was brought to the ground by Priestman.
The Australia forward dusted himself off to find the same bottom corner as Fadinger had and from there, David Gray's side took control.
Owen Elding was denied by a good save from Alex Paulsen and then had a shot blocked off the line by Martin Moormann as the hosts pushed for a winner.
Nathan Lowe fired wide with the goal at his mercy before Moormann again came to Motherwell's rescue to head another Lowe effort off the line.
And Hibs' missed chances came back to bite them as Said finished off a sweeping move on 85 minutes.
Going back to last season, Hibs have now lost four straight home matches and were booed off at both half-time and full-time here.
There was plenty of fan discontent after a first-leg Conference League qualifying defeat by Malisheva last month. Although they progressed on aggregate with a 4-1 home victory on Thursday, there is evidently an air of frustration surrounding the club.
For large periods of the second half they were the better side, but they squandered multiple chances and ultimately paid the price.
With games in Europe against North Macedonia's Shkendija either side of a trip to Rangers in the league, Gray has a tough run of fixtures ahead as he tries to convince the doubters.
For Motherwell, this was a victory built on gritty defending and a passage of real quality.
They did not have it all their own way, but they dug in and repelled cross after cross with Moormann leading a superb defensive effort.
The Austrian centre-back made 10 clearances, with two of them denying certain goals.
And then, when the moment arose, they took it with both hands, sweeping forward with one-touch passing and a calm finish from the effervescent Said.
Given the departures at Fir Park this summer - both on the park and in the dugout - the way Motherwell have started the new season is very impressive.
It is still early days, but Johansson appears to be an excellent choice to continue the excellent work done last season by Jens Berthel Askou.

Hibernian have won three of the last four occasions they have faced Motherwell on MD1 of a league season (L1), including both of the last two: 3-0 in 2018-19, and 3-2 in 2021-22.
Motherwell won away to Hibernian 1-0 on the final day of last season. The Steelmen are therefore looking to successive away league wins over Hibs for the first time since August 2013 – when the second win was on MD1.
Hibernian have won their opening game in seven of the last nine Scottish Premiership seasons (L2), although have lost on MD1 in two of the last three.
Motherwell have only won their league opener in one of the last nine seasons (D4 L4), beating St. Mirren 1-0 in 2022-23.
This will be Alfred Johansson’s first league game in charge of Motherwell. Just two of the Steelmen’s last seven managers (incl. caretakers) have won their first league match (D2 L3), Steven Hammell beating St. Mirren 1-0 in July 2022 and Stuart Kettlewell beating the same side 2-1 in February 2023.
