  2. 'Duran's best position through middle' - O'Neillpublished at 22:51 BST 15 October

    FT: Benfica 4-1 Celtic

Some more from Celtic boss Martin O'Neill before we finish up. He says he thinks Duran's "strongest position is through the middle".

What does that mean for Kasper Hogh?

"[Duran] has played wide at his previous clubs," O'Neill adds. "But I personally feel his best position is through the middle.

"It's now a matter of us trying to fit him in and I think we can do that. It's a real battle for places now."

  3. Vrancken not happy with substitutespublished at 22:47 BST 15 October

    FT: Hearts 1-1 Nordsjaelland

Hearts head coach Wouter Vrancken tells BBC Scotland: "Not so much frustration, more disappointment because of the late goal. And also because we couldn't show anything more in the last 20 minutes.

"I expected a bit more energy there, when you make substitutions. We lost energy instead of gaining it, and that's not what we need.

"It had to be 2-0 or 3-0 at half-time. Even in the second half, we had moments we have to exploit and do better. Then you kill the game, and you're confident and comfortable.

"As long as the second goal isn't there, you know you're taking more of a risk and there's an all-or-nothing feeling. Then we have to put energy against this, because there's spaces to exploit for us."

First half was brilliant and if Hearts had managed to get the second goal before the break, they'd have been out of sight.

Second half, they just never really got going. When it got to about 83 minutes, the full stadium was hoping they could see it out, grind it out, and get the 1-0 victory.

They never managed to do that, which was disappointing. It's still a point, the manager will go over things, but they don't have much time.

They just have to put it to bed and get ready to go again on Sunday.

  9. 'We could've capitulated' - O'Neill hails Celtic responsepublished at 22:29 BST 15 October

    FT: Benfica 4-1 Celtic

Celtic manager Martin O'Neill tells TNT Sports: "Last thing you want to do is concede so early on. We could've capitulated, but I thougt the second-half performance was terrific. We created chance after chance.

"The second-half performance gives me the determination... I think we can still qualify. We can still do it.

"We came roaring back, the subs came on and did brilliantly. We could've scored a number of goals. It changed because two wide players really wanted to get at people.

"I accept on the break they could have scored themselves, as they did with their fourth goal."

When asked if he will take his side's second-half showing into Sunday's encounter with Hearts, he responds: "Absolutely."

Celtic captain Callum McGregor tells TNT Sports: "Disappointing result. We were here to get points and win.

"We were playing against a really good side with with really good quality in final third. First half we didn't help ourselves.

"Second half we score one, probably could score another. Bit of a game of two halves.

"Unforced errors lead to the second and third goals and you have a mountain to climb.

"We know at this level if you don't look after the ball you're going to get punished."

For me if I'm a creative midfield player and I've got Camilo Duran and Kasper Hogh to pick from to play up front, I'm taking Duran every day of the week.

"We took our foot off the gas. I don't want to make any excuses for us. That was down to us. They are a good team with good quality and good players.

"They punished us. that's what happens. I think this team can keep going."

  16. Vrancken hails Hearts display but rues missed chancespublished at 22:07 BST 15 October

    FT: Hearts 1-1 Nordsjaelland

Some instant reaction from Hearts boss Wouter Vrancken on TNT Sports: "[We played a] really good game, really dominant, really dominant out of possession also.

"In Europe you have to finish [your chances]. We had good moments. We showed ourselves in Europe."

On the trust he has in his squad to handle a hectic schedule with a trip to Celtic to come on Sunday, he adds: "[The players] have showed already they are ready to take over.

"But they are human beings. You can't always be top every day or in every moment. The games are coming fast."

In the second half Hearts got what they deserved. They never really got going. First half I thought they were outstanding. I think Hearts will be bitterly disappointed looking back on their chances missed.

Thankfully Benfica stopped trying so hard after three, bit like most of the Celtic players. Defensively we are shocking and that starts from the forwards. Really worried about next few weeks.

Celtic's defence is shocking. Maybe people will understand why the fans are demonstrating against Dermot Desmond. They need players in the defensive positions, but the Celtic board have failed again and again to strengthen.
