Ollie Pearce's 90th-minute header rescued a draw for York City at home to Accrington Stanley.

It had looked like Josh Woods' sixth goal of the season would earn Stanley a first win on the road since February, but Pearce also extended his own tally to six with the late leveller.

Woods opened the scoring in the 62nd minute when, having won a free-kick close to the left touchline, he then glanced a header inside the far post from Stefan Mols' teasing delivery.

The visitors wasted excellent chances to extend their lead through Woods and substitute Connor Grant, while David Tutonda was denied by a fine save by Alfie McNally.

Instead, it was Pearce who stuck, heading in from six yards after Harry Boyes had crossed from the right.

The result was cruel on John Doolan's men, who will still take solace from extending their beaten run in all competitions to eight games.
