In every aspect of the game Aston Villa outplayed Fenerbahce from start to finish. A really wonderful, confident and building performance. They look as if they're enjoying their football now. It wasn't looking like that at the start of the season, but they're growing in confidence now.
Cast your mind back to last night when Man Utd defender Lisandro Martinez launched a blistering attack on the club's hierarchy for not strengthening the squad after their 2-0 loss at Atletico Madrid.
Well, the Argentine has taken to social media to explain his actions in the post-match interview.

As a United fan, whatever is going on upstairs at City, gotta take my hat off to them. That 2nd half was probably one of the best halves of football I’ve watched. Shame my club can’t play like that….

Very proud of the second half, but it was an exhibition in the first half. I thought that they had a very steep up hill battle in the second half. Yes Enzo made the right changes, and they did affect the game but it wasn't enough. Clearly the best team won tonight.
Wins elsewhere for Bodo/Glimt, Real Betis and, earlier, Feyenoord...

PSG started the game like a house on fire. The rotations they make are really difficult to pick up and if you don't get the timing right they get into these positions which make it virtually impossible.
The way that they get up the pitch is remarkable.

Top performance from Villa.

Aston Villa boss Unai Emery told TNT Sports: "Overall it was a very good match. There are still things to improve. It was a strong result for us. Maybe Fenerbahce didn't deserve those six golas.
"Keep going forward. [It helps] confidence for us. We did some changes to get other players confidence and minutes. What we did today was fantastic. The Champions League is very difficult."
On Nicolas Jackson: "He has power to get in behind. He can drop and help as well. We need him always to be in the box when we're attacking. Brian Madjo is ready to play as well now. Jackson is our striker."
On Johan Manzambi: "Very good. He's a very nice guy. Very professional. A very good team-mate. How he's adapted to us is very good."

Unai Emery proved that Aston Villa will get better eventually. They were slow starters in the Premier League last season and they have done so again this season for different reasons but they will be absolutely fine under Emery.

A walk in the park for Aston Villa...

Man City boss Enzo Maresca, speaking to TNT Sports: "I think we start quite good until the first goal and then we concede the second one after one minute. That created some bad feelings. Second half, we were much better and probably deserved something more.
"It was a bit strange, to be honest. Until the first goal, we started quite good, we were in the game, then we conceded the first and then the second one. We didn't lose half-time, we adjusted something. We created enough to deserve something more.
"We adjusted a bit when we were pressing. I think we lost a bit of the balance.
"Even with 3-0 in the first half, with the amount of chances we created in the second half, we deserved more. Luis said at the end of the game that they were quite lucky today.
"You have to be clinical but not lose the balance.
Message to the fans: "We are sorry for the first half for sure. Saturday is a Premier League game and we need to continue our run."

Superb exhibition of football by PSG in the first half. Matched by a superb effort by City in the second with over 21 attempts on goal. Great advert for the game by two special teams.

PSG winger Desire Doue, speaking to TNT Sports: "It was amazing today. The atmosphere here is amazing too. When you're a footballer, you want to play this type of game. I think we did good today. The second half wasn't as good but we are really happy.
"We did good with the ball. We had some objectives when we played. It's comfortable when you play a team like City.
"When you win 3-0 at the half-time, you can think you can relax but this is the highest level. The Champions League is amazing and City is a very good team. They have some of the best players in the world, like Haaland. We have to be better defensively."

Bouaddi was amazing without the ball, and that's what it is. You have to get back into the game, press and be aggressive.
And what a partnership he'll have [with Elliott Anderson]. Anderson was fantastic today. Steven Gerrard was probably one of the best I have ever played with, but Anderson tries to grab the game like Stevie.
He won't give up, and I love that in a football player. The game was almost out of sight but he keeps going, and Stevie was the best at that. He would grab the game by the scruff of the neck. Every time you watch Elliott he gives his best.
