Doncaster Rovers have signed goalkeeper Tommy Simkin on a season-long loan from Stoke City.
The 21-year-old made 15 appearances for the Potters in the Championship last season while deputising for the injured Sweden international Viktor Johansson and Gavin Bazunu.
Simkin had been on loan at Leyton Orient during the first half of the campaign but was recalled by Stoke in January.
He has also had previous loan spells with Solihull Moors, Forest Green Rovers and Walsall, where he made 47 appearances for the Saddlers in their run to the League Two play-offs in 2024-25.
Simkin is in the England Under-21 setup and was part of the squad which won the U21 European Championship in Slovakia in 2025.
"In goalkeeper terms, I'm still really young, and I knew I needed to come out on loan again, and I couldn't think of a better place than here," Simkin told the Donny club website, external.
"After speaking to the gaffer, he's got a goal in his frame of mind, what he wants to achieve, and it matches mine as well."
Doncaster goalkeeping coach Kyle Letheren said: "For someone who is only 21, he has experienced quite a lot over the last three years playing in the Championship, League One and League Two.
"It is brilliant to see Stoke have trusted us to continue his development, and we are looking forward to working with him."
Rovers finished 14th in League One in 2025-26, following on from winning League Two to gain promotion the previous season.
