Bristol City have signed midfielder Gibson Yah from Dutch club Volendam on a four-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

The 22-year-old becomes the Robins' third signing of the summer following the arrivals of goalkeeper Sam Tickle and midfielder Sam Greenwood earlier this week.

Yah started his career in the Ajax youth academy and joined Utrecht in 2022 before moving to Volendam last summer.

He made 26 appearances as the club were relegated from the Eredivisie.

Yah told City's website:, external "[Bristol City's sporting director] James Ellis and Michael Skubala told me their vision. They told me the plans they have for me and especially the trust they were speaking about.

"I'm here to show them what I can do. I don't like to speak words, so I prefer to show it on the pitch and I will do my best for the club and for the team to make sure I succeed."

New manager Skubala said: "We're really pleased to bring Gibson to Bristol City. He's an exciting young player with a lot physical and technical attributes that we look for and we are excited to work with him."
