York City have signed midfielder Arthur Read and centre-backs Zak Johnson, Charlie McArthur and Zech Medley.
Johnson, 21, joins from Sunderland for an undisclosed fee following a loan spell with the Minstermen last season, when they won promotion back into the Football League as National League champions.
Free-agent Read, 26, made more than 150 appearances for Colchester United after joining from Stevenage in 2023, scoring 14 goals.
Medley, 25, made 21 appearances in League Two last season for Fleetwood, who finished 15th, before playing nine games on loan at eventual champions Bromley in the second half of the campaign. He also joins on a free transfer.
McArthur arrives following the expiry of his contract with Newcastle United. The 21-year-old, who did not make a senior appearance for the Premier League side, spent the second half of last season on loan at Airdrieonians, making 16 appearances.
The lengths of the contracts are undisclosed.
