  3. Close of play at Sophia Gardenspublished at 19:19 BST 20 June

    Glamorgan v Surrey 82-2 f/o - trail by 171

It's been an absolute marathon day at Sophia Gardens - and it entirely belongs to Glamorgan.

What a day in particular it has been for Mason Crane and Tom Norton.

Earlier, Crane fired the maiden first-class century of his career to help push Glamorgan to their three batting points.

    Then, the real fun began.

18-year-old Norton took 5-50 as Surrey were skittled out for 105 - a dismal Surrey first-innings which also included the most bizarre of run outs for former England opener Rory Burns.

After enforcing the follow-on, Glamorgan found two further wickets and lead by 171 with victory firmly in their sights on the close of day two.

  4. Close of play at Grace Roadpublished at 19:18 BST 20 June

    Leics 453 v Yorks 185 & 32-2

Sam Whiteman survives a big appeal for lbw and gets through the final over unscathed from Ben Green.

Leicestershire have bossed all six sessions thus far and start day three in a commanding position after brilliant centuries from Rehan Ahmed and Nick Kelly.

Josh Davey then put the cherry on the proverbial cake by nipping out both Yorkshire openers in the space of four balls.

The visitors will resume needing 236 runs just to make the home side bat a second time.

A first home win over the Tykes in 40 years is in their grasp.

    Leics 453 v Yorks 185 & 30-2

Alex Green comes on to bowl the final over of the day from the Bennett End to give the Yorkshire batters something new to contemplate.

The 19-year-old picked up his maiden first-class wicket in the first innings.

James Wharton pushes at the fourth ball and it pops up to wicketkeeper Ben Cox and the Foxes slip cordon goes up.

Nothing doing from the umpire, however. Off the pad not bat. The final ball keeps very low once again but it's wide of the off stump so harmless.

Ben Green to bowl the final six balls.

    Glamorgan v Surrey 80-2 f/o - trail by 173

    Unbelievable!

Another beautiful delivery by Tom Norton and second night-watchman Rahul Chahar feathers behind to Chris Cooke for a simple catch behind the stumps.

But oh dear - Norton has overstepped his mark and it is a front foot no-ball.

At the end of the over, Norton covers his face with his cap - he knows how close he was for yet another wicket today. That would have been his seventh!

What a day for Glamorgan! What a season this is turning into

So hard being a Lancs supporter. At the ground today so many diehard Lancashire fans were saying worst side they had ever seen representing the county.

    Leics 453 v Yorks 185 & 30-2

That's a trifle straight from Ben Green and Sam Whiteman helps it through midwicket for his first boundary.

A watchful start from the number three who moves to six from 23 balls.

Two overs to go before the final spectators nip off to catch their buses.

  9. Postpublished at 19:07 BST 20 June

    Glamorgan v Surrey 77-2 f/o - trail by 176

Not the shot you would expect of a night-watchman but I suppose that is one way to play the role.

Rahul Chahar smashes the ball down the ground, the ball ricochets off the stumps at the non-striker's end, and bounces away for four.

That sums up a crazy day at Sophia Gardens rather well I would suggest.

  10. Postpublished at 19:05 BST 20 June

    Leics 453 v Yorks 185 & 26-2

Four overs remain - can Leicestershire prise out a third before the close?

Josh Davey switches to over the wicket for James Wharton who flirts with a ball outside off-stump - it's not a million miles from the edge.

The next moves in and runs past the off-stump, but Wharton gets to the pitch of the final ball and drives square through the onside for his first boundary.

  11. Night-watchmen not doing their jobspublished at 19:02 BST 20 June

Essex night-watchman Jamie Porter - OUT.

Lancashire night-watchman Mitch Stanley - OUT.

Surrey night-watchman Sean Abbott - OUT.

Is there a lesson that maybe quality batters are more likely to survive?

    Abbott c Carlson b Norton 1 (Glamorgan v Surrey 68-2 f/o - trail by 185)

    The night-watchman goes!

This is fantastic cricket by Glamorgan and superb captaincy all round by Kiran Carlson.

He brings Tom Norton back into the attack and with his second ball Sean Abbott edges towards third slip.

There is Carlson who makes a wonderful low diving catch to his left and after a check with the umpire to see that it carried, Abbott walks.

A second night-watchman - Rahul Chahar - who was out for a first-ball duck just a few hours ago, walks out for a second time today.

    Kent 416 v Middlesex 319-6

Max Holden batting for MiddlesexImage source, Getty Images

Max Holden's century prevented Middlesex from likely following-on at Canterbury.

The visitors were in serious strife at 47-4 but Holden (143*), Joe Cracknell (40) and Zafar Gohar (62*) kept third-placed Kent at bay.

  14. Close of play at Tauntonpublished at 18:58 BST 20 June

    Somerset 208 & 23-1 v Warks 330

Manav Suthar to bowl the final over of day two.

Jordan Hermann cuts for four and sees out the remaining five balls to close unbeaten on 16.

Somerset have just about hung in there, but the visitors are firmly in the box seat going into day three.

Half-centuries from Beau Webster, Dan Mousley and Sam Hain helped the Bears to a 122-run lead on a pitch which has proved tricky for all concerned.

Nathan Gilchrist then struck before the close to leave Somerset 99 behind at stumps and needing to bat very well to set up any kind of meaningful fourth-innings chase.

  15. Close of play at Chesterfieldpublished at 18:57 BST 20 June

    Derbyshire 364 v Lancashire 161 & 140-6

A magnificent second day ends there for Derbyshire. They began it in control, they end it in complete and utter control.

From 197-5 they got to 364, led by Ben Aitchison's bludgeoning 75.

Then he and Rory Haydon combined to take three wickets each to reduce Lancashire's second innings to a quivering mess as they finish 63 runs short of making their hosts bat a second time.

Marcus Harris' unbeaten 57 is the only bright spot in a bleak performance for the visitors, whose season is seriously unravelling.

    Sibley c Dickson b Kellaway 26 (Glamorgan v Surrey 66-1 f/o - trail by 187)

The breakthrough with six overs of the day remaining!

Leggy Ben Kellaway, over the wicket, gets Dom Sibley to push at one and he edges to Sean Dickson at first slip who makes a safe grab.

Sean Abbott is out as night-watchman for Surrey. What a dismal day they have had in South Wales.

    Somerset 208 & 18-1 v Warks 330

Jordan Hermann picks up a boundary off Nathan Gilchrist's final over of day two and then scampers up the non-striker's end with a single.

But Josh Shaw is unable to get upo the other end so the opener will be on strike for the final over of the day.

    Durham 302-7 v Northants 450

Ben Stokes is bowledImage source, Getty Images

Northants added a further 62 runs for their remaining four wickets with Ricardo Vasconcelos out for a career-best 187.

At 30-3 Durham were wobbling but Ben Stokes showed England what they are missing with a fine, attacking knock of 95 before being undone by one which kept a touch low from Harry Conway.

Durham went on to avoid the follow-on where Will Rhodes batted well for his 62 but four wickets from Ben Sanderson have kept the visitors on top.

  19. Postpublished at 18:49 BST 20 June

    Somerset 208 & 18-1 v Warks 330

That should have been two down.

Josh Shaw runs a single to keep the strike and protect Jordan Hermann but is almost undone by a direct hit.

The night-watch is guilty of not running his bat in as the ball crashes into the timbers. Shaw is a fraction short but survives.

Had we a third umpire he would be walking.

    Stanley lbw b Aitchison 1 (Derbyshire 364 v Lancashire 161 & 134-6)

What a day Ben Aitchison is having for Derbyshire.

He clubbed a damaging 75 with the bat earlier on and now he's claimed a third Lancashire wicket in this second innings.

Night-watchman Mitch Stanley can't see it through to the close as he is pinned in front by one that keeps a little low.
