The demand for weight loss surgery has boomed in recent years. Whether it’s a gastric sleeve, band or bypass, all are touted on social media as ways to shed the pounds. Increasingly, UK patients are choosing to travel abroad, to places like Turkey, for the surgery. BBC Three investigates why that’s the case and how safe it is to undergo such huge operations abroad.
