The Red Roses can add yet another trophy to their cabinet, as they've just been crowned champions of the Women's Six Nations 2026.

And they've done this just eight months after winning the World Cup held in England last year, making them the only rugby team in the world, men or women, to win a World Cup and Six Nations back-to-back.

While France gave them some trouble, particularly at the start of the match on Sunday, the Red Roses pushed through to score six tries and finish with a winning score of 28-43.

Despite being the favourites to win, as they often are, the team faced more challenges than ever before to lift the Six Nations trophy this year.

They were playing with quite a new team - in fact, only six of the starting lineup also played in their World Cup final against Canada last summer.

They have a lot of key players such as Hannah Botterman and Tatyana Heard recovering from injury.

And four players, including captain Zoe Stratford, are away because they're pregnant or have just had children.

But Red Roses were in good hands. Meg Jones, who was vice-captain for their World Cup win in 2025, captained them to victory in this tournament and told the BBC afterwards she was "shattered".

She also said she was incredibly proud of her side: "The calibre of the players we have, we shouldn't have doubted it. Maybe we let outside noise creep in. We wanted to raise the floor and did that in abundance."

Head coach John Mitchell was also full of praise for his team.

"I have to take my hat off to the staff and the coaching staff. I want to be grateful to the people who do all the work behind the team, to navigate through so much change but that has made us such a better coaching unit," Mitchell told BBC Sport.

"For the generation that has joined us on this voyage, they are a different kettle of fish and have a lot of confidence. Meg has done a marvellous job of helping them understand what it means to be a Red Rose."

Scotland, Ireland, Wales and Italy all played their final matches this weekend too.

Wales played their last game against Italy and were beaten 24-43.

It means they once again finish the tournament having won no games.

Ireland, meanwhile, beat Scotland 54-5 in front of a record crowd at Aviva Stadium in Dublin and ended the tournament in third place.

Scotland finished 5th in the table.
