A brand new space telescope has just blasted off on an incredible mission to explore some of the biggest mysteries in the universe.
Nasa's Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope launched from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida and will spend the next few years hunting for planets beyond our solar system and helping scientists learn more about dark matter and dark energy.
To help explain this exciting mission, Dr Eamonn Kerins from the Jodrell Bank Centre for Astrophysics at The University of Manchester will be joining us on the Newsround sofa.

Dr Eamonn was at the Kennedy Space Center to witness the launch and is one of the scientists involved in studying distant planets that the new telescope could discover.
