A round of a-paws for these graduates!

Finishing your studies is a big day for all students, but at Queen's University in Belfast, it's important for pets too!

It hosted a pet graduation ceremony for animals like cats, dogs and even a goat.

Pets and their owners walked the red carpet before receiving their very own 'pet-ificate' in subjects like Fur-ensic Science, Anthropawlogy and Barkaeology.

Let's meet some of them.

Good boy, Max! He won an award for Animal of the year

The Animal of the Year title went to Max.

He got the award for bravery and helping others as he is a search and rescue dog.

Max was awarded an honorary 'dog-torate' for his specialist ability to find missing people in emergency situations using his amazing scent detection skills.

Just last month, he went to Venezuela to find and help people following a major earthquake.

Congratulations Max!

Greta arriving at the graduation ceremony looking fabulous in her pink outfit!

"If anyone has earned a graduation cap, it's Greta!"

That's what her owner Hollye said as she described how Greta helped her with her studies.

"Greta was there for every stressful assignment, exam and dissertation meltdown, always ready to make me laugh, usually by causing a little bit of chaos," she said.

"She reminded me to step away from my laptop, get outside and enjoy the little things in life (even if that meant chasing a mischievous pygmy goat around the yard).

"She may not have written a single essay... but she was the best emotional support I could have asked for," Hollye said.
