Just what makes a World Rally Championship car tick?
M-Sport have given Newsbeat a guided tour round their latest rally car.
The Fiesta R5 rolls off the production line as an ordinary Ford Fiesta ST road car and then gets rebuilt to prepare if for the hammering it will get on the world's harshest roads.
Rally cars race on any surface for days at a time and cover hundreds of miles in a single event. Designers have to combine safety with performance.
Peugeot and Citroen are developing cars to compete with the R5, which is available to anyone with a price tag of £160,000, although the list of optional extras is quite long.
M-Sport engineer Grant Clark showed Newsbeat reporter Tom Martienssen round the latest model.
