"Back with a vengeance. With a feel more akin to 28 Days Later than James Bond, Spooks is feeling as fresh and as slick as ever. Pulling Iran in to the fray shows the show hasn't lost its political edge and the treatment of its stars keeps you glued to the screen, especially with this programme's tendency to kill everyone off.

Pumped with adrenaline and playing on all too real contemporary fears, this episode shows the world how TV drama is supposed to be done (seemingly a bit of violence for the boys and Rupert Penry-Jones' bare buttocks for the girls). All in all, an amazing start to a series that seemed to slightly lose it's way last year. Here's hoping that they can keep up the tension, and that my nerves can take it."

Laura Wales, Manchester

"Nail-biting is not the word... what an exquisite return for the world's slickest spy drama. Pacey and exciting, with the boundaries of reality expertly stretched to breaking point. Top level acting, as always, with Raza Jaffrey in particular standing out with his super-gritty portrayal of an injured, infected Zaf."

Natalie, Bromley

"Realistic acting and covering controversial topics but always managing to remain unbiased. Having to wait for this new series to start has been unbearable."

Wendy Humphreys, Devon

"This episode was a cracker - fast, tense and real. I'm always wondering which of the team will go next and I love the politics both internal and external to the Grid."

Hitherman, London
