Update 1st April at 4pm: Yesterday I was talking about my evening out with Scott and I said something a bit inappropriate and I wasn't really thinking to be honest with you, it was a flippant remark that I really shouldn't have made and I'm really sorry about it.

The famous Xylophone Cat!

On the Alphabet Game today on my show, we were trying to get an A-Z of animals. A bloke rang up and tried to suggest one for 'X'. The only thing he could come up with was a 'xylophone cat'.

Now, I thought that there was no such animal. Maybe I was wrong:

Thank you to Elliot who apparently spotted this in his garden and emailed it to me...

My new fashion gallery...

Everyone knows that Fearne is a bit of a fashion icon. She has created a new gallery on her pages so you can see what she wears to work each day.

I thought I'd set up a rival gallery, with a little bit of help from her.

She dressed me in a range of her unwanted clothing. 4 collections, to be precise:

Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter.

Here's a taster:

Odd, I agree. However, I'm pretty sure I'm not going mad. Well, maybe a bit.

There ARE nice people in London!

Look at this. At my train station this morning, the ticket man had written a little note. It's the sort of thing you'd expect from the Swanage Steam Railway, not smelly central London.

Good work Mr. Ticket Man.

This slightly put me off my stride. Not who you really want to see in a bog is it?

I'm back and it's been a busy old week!

Hello, welcome along to a brand new week. I fully refreshed and ready to go. It feels a little more like summer today too, so I'm happy.

Hope you're all well - lots going on today. Usual nonsense from 1pm plus a few special guests from brilliant new film Kick Ass. The film is the story of an 11-year-old superhero girl assassin. Well, kind of. I saw it last week and absolutely loved it.

The three main characters who play vigilante superheros: Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz and Christopher Mintz-Plasse (best known as 'McLovin' from Superbad) will be on my show later.

It reminded me of when I became a Superhero that time for a Radio 1 Documentary:

Remember this?!

In other news, the Radio 1 team did brilliantly at Sport Relief yesteday. We all did 6 miles and raised almost £2500. I absolutely loved it and although at the finish line I said "I'll never run anywhere ever again", that was a lie - I really enjoyed it. The training paid off!

Welcome along from BBC Scotland. I've broken in to someone's computer and managed to remember the website address to write a blog. Feel a bit spaced out as was up nice and early today - headed straight to the space-aged Terminal 5 at Heathrow and flew to Glasgow.

glasgow.jpgI'm doing 'Feet Up Friday' live from Glasgow today and have got a lovely audience on the way in too. As well as that, Mark Beaumont, the guy who 'Cycled the Americas' will be joining me and has brought his bike with him. I smell a Sport Relief challenge on the horizon...Oh goody.

Matt Damon was in a few weeks ago, and the interview I did with him will be on also and I got a very special friend of the show to speak with him.

100209_mattdamon_greg.JPGAs well as that, the usual guff and as always on a Friday, the world's most original gameshow - 'The Square' - will of course get an airing.

Listen to the show

I'm off to have an amazing breakfast at the world's greatest workplace canteen. It is seriously incredible.

Have a lovely week!

Time is very much running out before the 'Team Radio 1' Sport Relief run in London. We're doing 6 miles together next Sunday.

I have had to find time to train during the show this week so I decided to do some 'Newsbeat relays'. This is where I run from the basement studio to Newsbeat on the 2nd floor during the space of one track.

As I write, I'm feeling awful...Mess.

Here's some photos of me running:

I went to Tonbridge this morning to do some falconry training. I was challenged to run away from a hawk.

Our 'man on the ground' Jonathan Blake (Newsbeat's freeloadin' US reporter) is poised in L.A to give me a load of guff on The Oscars. He'll be on the show this afternoon...

Here he is with a big Oscar. Nice shoes...

He did a Live Lounge for Max on our sister station*, BBC 1Xtra yesterday. I popped along to Maida Vale to have a chat with him.

*This does not mean Max is my sister.

The chat with him will be on after 2pm today...Along with these 'hot topics':

- I hate self service checkouts at supermarkets

- Do you find bags of dog mess hanging on trees where you live like I do?

and

- I watched Newsnight and quite liked it

It's all go!

Lady Gaga and Chris Tarrant...

Greg James|18:14 UK time, Monday, 1 March 2010

A busy old weekend, but a good one. A very good one! Friday night was spent watching Lady Gaga. A very impressive show even if the awkward acting was hard to watch at times. The whole premise was that she was trying to get to the Monster Ball and kept reminding us! "Oh my god, how the hell are we going to get to the Monster Ball?" I don't care, just play Poker Face.

At one point during the show, she said: "I broke my shoe during that last song, I carried on with it on though as I'd rather die than you see me without heels...that's showbiz". That made me like her a lot.

Saturday was all about father/son bonding. I managed to get a couple of tickets to see England vs. Ireland at Twickenham. My dad is a huge rugby fan and I've noticed that he starts swearing when watching live sport. Alan gets right into it. Superb match though, even if England couldn't get the victory - I even bumped into Mumford and Sons in the bar afterwards.

rubgyengire.jpg

Yesterday was a weird one. I was asked to play in a charity cricket match. Cricket in February isn't always the best idea - and we had to play 'whatever the weather' as it was for charity. Chris Tarrant was the captain:

tarrant.jpg

...and he was joined by a cast of actors, many of which I recognised from ITV1's hit series 'Midsomer Murders' - and as you know, I love that show so I was very happy. I'm sure the wicketkeeper ran a cake sale in one of the episodes...

It was so cold and wet yesterday but so fun. Here I am just coming off the field - victorious!:

cricket2.jpgA packed weekend, busy day today interviewing the Mumford lads at Maida Vale this morning...Oh, and I got a weeks holiday confirmed today - you'll be having Dev week commencing 15th March. Fingers crossed, I'll be moving in to my new flat that week. Oh yes.

A quieter week planned this week - haven't had a minute to do anything else recently. And by 'anything', I mean washing. I stink.
