Robbie's Givin It Sum to Abbey Hulton
Sutton Trust Red Noses
Havin a good red-nose time!

At the Sutton Trust Community Group they received money from Robbie's Give It Sum to help provide a computer suite, which is used partially by young people in the Abbey Hulton area in Stoke on Trent.

....Recently Robbie Williams also personally gifted 15 computer games to the Cyber Café for the children to use. He visited our community group house in November last year, the same day he visited The Donna Louise/Treetops Hospice.

We'd previously received funding from his charity Give It Sum for a computer suite at the house and he came along to see how his donation is being used.

While he was here, our computer suite voluteers got chatting to him and they told him that the suite was a little short of PC games for the children and teenagers to use at our Cyber Cafe sessions on Monday and Friday evenings.

Games!Robbie said at the time he would see what he could do to sort something out. True to his word, he later sent us 15 top PC games.
Up until then, we had a hard time convincing the kids that he had actually been here. They were absolutely delighted.

In the photo right the children at our Cyber Cafe are holding up the games sent to us by Robbie Williams.

Thanks Robbie (and Jan)
We are really grateful to Robbie and his mum Jan for all their support. Their involvement has meant a lot for everyone involved in the Sutton Trust Community Group project and you couldn't hope to meet nicer people.

Robbie's money also helped to provide two workstations downstairs which are specifically for access by people who are disabled.
There are ten in all, though PC number one is used to monitor all computers to ensure children are not being inappropriately approached whilst on the internet.

Red-nosing it!
Of course we had to join in with Comic Relief and the night this year was a great success.
Give It SumWe raised about £125.00 all together and the children had a really good time. They got really excited and really serious about the tournament.

The photo at the top of the page shows everyone having fun on the night. The lady with the red mohiccan hairdo is our chair Betty Rushton and Paula Hulme (me!) is the one at the back in the purple top.

Winners everywhere
We had a a sponsored Cyber Snowboarding Tournament too: you can see the picture below.
Winners
In third place we had Kimberley Wallace - nice to see the boys didn't totally clean up! She won a large bar of chocolate.
In second place was Anthony Capewell and he too won a large bar of chocolate.
In first place was Matthew Aubrey who was absolutely positive he was going to win and he did! His prize was a MASSIVE bar of chocolate and a trophy.
An extreme sports video was also kindly donated towards the first prize by Drew of 'Dazed' in Hanley.

Karl Capewell raised the most amount of money and so received a certificate and Dexter Wilmore had the worst hairdo and won an Easter egg for his trouble!

Come and see
Anybody interested is welcome to come and see for yourself how people like Robbie and Comic Relief are helping people to help themselves in the community.
Just contact Betty on (01782) 538996, or e-mail us and I'm sure we can arrange something.
