Sonay Kartal's game really suits this surface. She likes it, she feels it's a bit slower. She likes these conditions, can move the ball around. I think her variety can match up to Marie Bouzkova's game well.

Marie Bouzkova won the only previous meting between these two, in straight sets at the 2025 French Open.

The Czech is ranked 26th in the world, while Sonay Kartal is currently 127th.

Both of this year's Wimbledon finalists are representing Czech Republic, in Linda Noskova and Karolina Muchova.

In a dramatic Wimbledon final, Noskova had to recover from missing five championship points to beat Muchova6-2 5-7 6-3.

Noskova was the third Czech champion in the past four years at the All England Club, after victories for compatriots Marketa Vondrousova and Barbora Krejcikova in 2023 and 2024 respectively.

She also played a starring role in helping Czech Republic seal a return to the BJK Cup Finals last April, beating Swiss players Viktorija Golubic 6-1 6-4 and Belinda Bencic 6-3 3-6 7-6 (9).
