Super League leaders Leeds Rhinos have re-signed forward Morgan Gannon on a three-year deal which will begin in 2027.

The 22-year-old rejected the offer of a new contract last year in order to move to the National Rugby League (NRL) to join New Zealand Warriors for 2026.

The Warriors agreed to release him, external from his contract early last week due to personal circumstances, clearing a return to England at the end of the season.

"The fact that he is one of our own, having come through our development pathway and knows our club, makes this a perfect fit for all of us," head coach Brad Arthur told the club website., external

"I know Morgan will be keen to pick up where he left off when he starts pre-season with us and it will be good to have him back around the boys."

Gannon made his debut for Leeds in April 2021 and played 73 games for them before his departure last year.

However, he has made just one full NRL appearance for the Warriors, which came in their win against Newcastle Knights in March.

"I am grateful for the opportunity I have had with the Warriors this year and I am looking forward to helping the squad for the remainder of this season," Gannon said.

"I know the Rhinos are going well this season and I wish them all the best for the rest of this campaign."
