Defending Premiership champions Glentoran continued their unbeaten start to the season and moved back to top spot after a 3-1 victory over Derry City.

A well-taken free-kick from Aimee Kerr after eight minutes gave the home side the lead at the Blanchflower Stadium.

Captain Jess Foy then doubled their advantage just before the half-time whistle before Mia Moore found the top corner within a minute of the restart.

The visitors were able to pull a goal back on the hour mark, but couldn't stage a second-half comeback.

"It was a battle," Kelly Crompton told Glentoran's media after the match.

"I think any team as big as Derry, they always make it a good battle.

"However, I think we stuck to our game plan and did what we had to do and I am happy with the result."
