Rochdale bring in ex-MK Dons defender Sherring

Rochdale have completed the signing of defender Sam Sherring on a one-year contract.

Sherring was a free agent having left MK Dons at the end of the last season.

The 26-year-old has played in the EFL for five different clubs, including on loan at Cheltenham Town last season.

"Sam is a really good defender, who wants to learn and develop, and will give us something different in the backline," said, external Dale head coach Ian Watson.

Rochdale play their first competitive game of the season, away to Tranmere Rovers in the EFL Cup preliminary round, on Saturday (15:00 BST).
