Midfielder Giorgi Chakvetadze has departed Watford to join Serie A club Udinese.

The 26-year-old ends a three-year stint with the Hornets, where he has made 103 appearances, to sign for the Pozzo family-owned Italian side.

After returning from injury in November, the Georgia international featured in all but one of Watford's remaining Championship fixtures last season.

"Giorgi felt it was time to test himself in another league after three seasons in the Championship," Watford's group technical director Gian Luca Nani told the club website., external

"After offers from around Europe, the technical department decided to keep a very talented player in the group which still provides Giorgi with the opportunity to play top-level football in Serie A."

Chakvetadze is the 10th player to depart Watford this summer.
