Notts County defender Lewis Macari has signed a one-year deal to remain with the newly-promoted League One side.

The 24-year-old, who also has a further 12-month option on his contract in the club's favour, has made more than 100 appearances for the Magpies since first joining the club on loan from Stoke City in 2023.

He featured 40 times for Notts last term, but a serious leg injury suffered in late April meant he played no part in the League Two play-off campaign it took to get the Magpies promoted.

Macari was on crutches and watching on from the stands at Wembley Stadium as Notts beat Salford City 3-0 in the play-off final to end their 11-year League One absence.
