Mickey Harte has been named as Kilcoo manager for the 2027 season.
Harte had been without a role since he stepped down from his position as joint-manager of Offaly in July, where he had been in charge alongside Declan Kelly since 2024.
Kilcoo, who won the All-Ireland in 2022, missed out on the Down Senior Football Championship for the first time since 2018 when they were beaten by Burren in the semi-finals.
The Magpies, who had won 13 of the last 14 Down titles before this year, said Harte had been "unanimously ratified" as manager on Tuesday evening.
Harte is regarded as one of the best managers in the history of gaelic games after he led Tyrone to three All-Ireland titles in 2003, 2005 and 2008.
He also won six Ulster titles in his 18 years in charge of the Red Hands.
After leaving Tyrone in 2020, he had spells in charge of Louth and Derry.
