BBC Norman Beaton Fellowship 2013 Winners


The 2013 Norman Beaton Fellowships have been awarded to:

CARYS ELERI

JOHN NORTON


Carys and John came to the event via a workshop with the Sherman Theatre Cardiff. Both join the Radio Drama Company on Saturday 27th July 2013, along with this year’s BBC Carleton Hobbs Bursary Award winners Georgie Fuller, Arthur Hughes, Harry Jardine and Joel Maccormack.

This year, the judges awarded two runners-up prizes to NBF finalists. Their names and the theatres through whose workshops they joined NBF 2013 are below:

SOPHIA DI MARTINO ............. Theatre by the Lake, Keswick
STEWART CAMPBELL ............. Citizens Theatre, Glasgow

Each of them will be cast via a freelance engagement in one of Radio Drama's 2013 Summer/Autumn/Winter productions.

This year, nine theatre companies from around the UK joined forces with Radio Drama in workshopping talent new to Radio: Theatre by the Lake, the Sherman Theatre Cardiff, Birmingham Repertory Theatre, Kabosh Belfast, Citizens Theatre Glasgow, Theatre Royal Stratford East, Talawa Theatre Company, Theatre Bristol and Tamasha Theatre Company. From the many actors who took part, 11 finalists were auditioned on 19th March at Broadcasting House London by this year's judges who were Marc Beeby (Drama Producer and Chair), Tracey Neale (Drama Producer), Sandra Boyce (agent), Don Gilet (actor) and Rebecca Wilmshurst (Drama Production Executive).
