Winners: Norman Beaton Fellowship 2006 Winners


The 2006 Norman Beaton Fellowships have been awarded to:
MIRANDA KEELING

SAIKAT AHAMED
Miranda came to the event via a workshop at the Oval House in Kennington London and Saikat via a workshop hosted by the Theatre Royal, Stratford East. Both join the Radio Drama Company on Saturday 22rd July, along with the Carleton Hobbs Bursary Award winners Bethan Walker, Emma Noakes, Joseph Kloska and Paul Richard Biggin.

This year, the judges awarded four runners-up prizes to NBF finalists. Their names and the theatres through whose workshops they joined NBF 2006 are below:
Andrea Crewe……Yorkshire Playhouse, Leeds
Naomi Taylor ……… Oval House, London
Sarah-Jayne Hallworth ….. Contact Theatre Manchester
Miche Doherty …….. Lyric Theatre, Belfast
Each of them will be cast via a freelance engagement in one of Radio Drama's 2006 summer/autumn/winter productions.

This year, fourteen theatres from around the UK joined forces with Radio Drama in workshopping talent new to Radio. From the many actors who took part, 12 finalists were auditioned on 5th April at Bush House by this year's judges who were Peter Leslie Wild (chair), Kate Chapman (Drama producer), Sandra Boyce (agent), Souad Faress (actress) and Rebecca Wilmshurst (Radio Drama's Production Executive).
