World at One and PM Highlights

Available for over a year

This year’s Nobel Peace Prize has been awarded to the South African judge, Navi Pillay, who represented Nelson Mandela in the fight against apartheid and served as the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights. The Nobel Committee said she had played a key role in ensuring that war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide were prosecuted. After being told of her win, Pillay joked that she couldn't believe the news is real, going on to joke: "If you clap a little bit more I may share this prize with Trump". Radio 4's Jonny Dymond speaks to Jørgen Watne Frydnes, the chair of the Norwegian Nobel Committee which selects the winner of the Peace Prize. Image Credit: Davide Elias/ EPA/Shutterstock
