Born September 23rd 1926 in North Carolina, Coltrane became one of the most influential jazz musicians of all time in his 40 short years on the planet. From his early recordings, to influential stints playing with Miles Davis and Thelonious Monk, to overcoming personal troubles and focusing on spirituality in his music - Jamie touches on the life and work of Trane. He's helped by archive interview clips and a live performance from this Summer's 'Round Midnight Prom at the Bristol Beacon, where Deny Baptiste and Gary Crosby performed Coltrane's iconic A Love Supreme.
