DJ, broadcaster, writer and dreamer Zakia Sewell provides the soundtrack to your dreams - playing music to ease the mind, soothe the soul, and open portals to new dimensions… This week Zakia dives into watery, mystical sounds inspired by her special guest Aisha Vaughan. Based in the Elan Valley in Wales, Aisha makes Celtic New Age music reflecting her natural surroundings, with her latest album, Water World, inspired by the rivers, mist and waterfalls she encounters on her walks. Aisha shares an otherworldly Dreambience mix with us, as well as some words on her music-making, her obsession with water, and her deep love for Enya. Elsewhere Zakia shares Celtic harps from Brittany’s Alain Stivell, a choir of children from Cornwall accompanied by Brenda Wootton, and reflections on Hebridean heritage from Arun Sood and Angeline Morrison, as well as some crackly records she picked up on a recent trip to Lisbon with her mum. There’s plenty of psychedelic folky sounds from the likes of Sally Oldfield, Linda Perhacs and The Incredible String Band, and new releases, including those from Mala Fama, Akusmi and Patrick Belaga. We want to hear your dreams! Send in tales of your sleepy adventures to dreamtime@bbc.co.uk or Whatsapp us on 03700 100 600 A Reduced Listening Production for BBC Radio 6 Music.
