What's the answer when it comes to welfare? Andy Burnham, widely toted to become the next Prime Minister, has given his first media interview since announcing his Labour leadership bid. In an interview on LBC, Mr Burnham told Andrew Marr that he would not make "crude cuts to benefit levels" that put people in "even worse poverty". Instead, he would aim to reduce the cost of benefits by providing better support for technical qualifications, and providing work placements for 16-year-olds.
