Ashley McBryde chooses her Tracks Of My Years

Vernon Kay

Available for 27 days

Grammy Award-winning country music singer Ashley McBryde joins Vernon Kay to select her Tracks Of My Years - with an in-depth conversation about her life and choosing ten songs which have soundtracked that time so far. Born in Arkansas, USA, in 1983, Ashley McBryde grew up playing her father's guitar before being given her own and had written her first song by the age of 12. In the mid-00s she moved to Nashville and worked at a guitar shop whilst performing at as many gigs and open-mic nights as possible. In 2016 she released the EP Jalopies & Expensive Guitars, which was discovered by musician Eric Church and playing on tour with him led to her first management deal. In 2017 she performed at the Grand Ole Opry for the first time and had her first Grammy nomination. In 2018 she released her debut album, Girl Going Nowhere, to critical acclaim. In 2023 she won the Grammy Award for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for her duet with Carly Pearce on the song Never Wanted To Be That Girl - which goes alongside five more nominations as well as several major country music awards. Last year she performed at London's Royal Albert Hall as part of the historic Grand Ole Opry: Live in London show, hosted by Vernon. She now releases her fifth studio album, Wild, at the start of this month. A BBC Audio production for BBC Radio 2.
