DJ, broadcaster, writer and dreamer Zakia Sewell provides the soundtrack to your dreams - playing music to ease the mind, soothe the soul, and open portals to new dimensions. This week, Zakia draws for nostalgic, yearning sounds from the likes of fado icon Amália Rodrigues, tender introspection from São Paulo-born musician Lau Ro, and hazy melancholy from memotone. Plus, new releases from Cuban DIY experimenter Daku and Welsh multi-instrumentalist Huw Marc Bennett, and a tribute to Prince, 10 years since his passing. We also hear from Portuguese musician Pedro Ricardo to mark the release of his new EP, Oxalá Cante com Tempo. Having spent time in Brazil, Ricardo’s music is infused with the sound of MPB and jazz, as well as traditional Portuguese folk music and poetry. He joins Zakia to share two tracks: one that inspired his latest EP, and another that transports him home. We want to hear your dreams! Send in tales of your sleepy adventures to dreamtime@bbc.co.uk or reach us on whatsapp on 03700 100 600 A Reduced Listening Production for BBC Radio 6 Music.
