Hildegard of Bingen — medieval nun turned composer, mystic, political adviser, botanist, philosopher, theologian, medic, scientist, and later, saint. She decides it’s time to tell her extraordinary story. At 14, Hildegard is shut away in a freezing cell, on the side of a Rhineland church. She only has fellow anchoress Jutta of Sponheim and their servant, Gisela, for company. So begins 24 years of hardship and visions, music and hope.
