Can I use BBC Sounds with my Sonos?

If you have an iPad or iPhone, Apple's AirPlay feature allows you to AirPlay from the BBC Sounds app to your Sonos One, Beam, Playbase, or second generation Play:5 device. 

You'll need to have v9 of the Sonos Controller app installed and accept the latest device firmware update within the app. Need some help setting up your Sonos device? Head to the Sonos Customer Care website.

Here's how to use AirPlay with your Sonos device on your iPad or iPhone

Firstly, make sure your iPad or iPhone is connected to your Sonos speaker. Then:

  1. Start playing the live stream, podcast, or on-demand programme you'd like to listen to
  2. On the playback screen, tap the AirPlay icon
  3. Select the Sonos speaker or speakers you'd like to stream the audio through

Sonos One owners also have the option of accessing BBC radio and podcasts using their voice - just say, "Alexa, open the BBC," to get started.
