Do animals care about the past?
Is there any evidence that the past matters to animals?

Most of us spend time thinking about the past. But is that just a human activity or do other animals ruminate on their history too? CrowdScience listener Taiwo is keen to know if there’s any evidence to show that animals are aware of the past and if it matters to them.
Caroline Steel meets researchers who have found evidence that animals not only remember past events, but find that memory useful for navigating the environment.
