Hospital bomber asked me for a hug

Nathan Newby will receive the George Medal at St James' Palace for spending more than two hours persuading Mohammed Farooq not to detonate a 10kg bomb at St James’ Hospital in January 2023. Farooq was later jailed for 37 years for preparing acts of terrorism. Newby has now spoken for the first time about the incident. Emma Glasbey reports.
